Life changing trip: Guatemala 2009. I spent 7 weeks traveling the country and 4 of those weeks learning Spanish
I studied in the town of Xela, (Quetzaltenango) at PLQ. I wanted to support a school that hired locally and paid a fair wage to their teachers. At the school, I met fascinating people, including Maria, an ex-guerilla, who was one of my teachers.
Not so anonymous group of Alcoholics.
While in Xela studying Spanish, I attended AA meetings in Spanish.
While in Guatemala, I participated in a Mayan Planting Ceremony. Check out the video below.
